Market Street, Social

It’s been a while since we talked about Market Street here on Frisky Mongoose. The last we time saw the game, it was during a new promotion with another Playdom title, Social City, that sees players of the latter receiving a free building for playing Market Street.

Now, though, new features abound in the title, and we’re here to give you a quick round-up of all of the new features to expect when next logging into the game. If you’ve taken a break from the game, here are a few reasons why you may decide to jump back in.

Market Street Magazine Now Available

Similar to many other Facebook games, Market Street now contains the “Market Street Magazine,” which will keep you up-to-date with the latest happenings in the title, whether it be decorations available in the store, or just helpful hints and tricks – it will appear as soon as you log into the game, so be sure to give it a look!

Today’s tip? “It pays to visit other stores on Market Street! Get big bonuses daily for visiting your neighbors’ stores!”

Limited Edition Items Now Available

Just like Social City, Market Street now offers a series of limited edition items – here, they are decorative items and accessories for your store. They are all available for Crowns, with the six currently available items ranging from a Vintage Register or Tiered Table to a Canvas Painting or Stained Glass Window. These items are limited in terms of their quantity in the store, rather than a time limit, so be sure to keep that in mind when browsing through the available items.

Shoplifters Now Appear in Shops – Here’s How to Catch Them!

You might have noticed some rather nefarious looking characters walking around your store. These characters are called shoplifters, and they are distinguishable via the red and black bandit mask that appears over their head. Playdom has released a set of tips on how to catch these no-good-scoundrels. Here’s the lowdown on bringing your shop back to safety!

First, you’ll want to install some security devices like cameras or theft detectors. These make the bandits glow before they make a break for the exit with your stolen goods. This gives you more time to catch them before they get away!

Next, simply watch out for sneaky behavior. If an avatar seems to be doing everything it can (thanks to AI) to stay far, far away from the cash register or from your store’s employees, it’s likely that they’re doing something wrong.

Finally, when you’ve spotted a shoplifter, you’ll want to hold down on the “Shift” key, down on your keyboard, when clicking on the bandits. This will allow you to click on the shoplifter easily without accidentally clicking on a display that might block your line of sight, or that the thief might be standing partially behind.

Shelves Hold Double the Goods

The last update of note is the increase in storage space for your goods in your store. Now, a shelving unit that contains two shelves, for instance, can hold double the product as before. That is, where dragging a product to a multi-tier display used to fill the entire shelving unit, you can now drag products to a particular shelf, allowing you to store more items at once, and make more money than before, especially if you decide to stock your shelves and then leave the game alone while you do other things. It’s double the money for the same amount of effort!

To see any of these changes or new features in action, make sure to head over to the game’s page on Facebook.

how do i get more crowns without having to buy them??

There are times when Playdom gives away Crowns via the game’s fan page on Facebook, but if you want Crowns right this second, the easiest way is, I’m afraid, to purchase them.
