Frisky Misc, Twitter

Yes, you read that right. Your dog – that hyper ball of fur who seems perfectly content doing nothing other than eating your slippers or barking at the neighbors – will soon be able to join the millions of other Twitter users in sharing the details of its day to day life with the masses, all thanks to Mattel’s newest creation called Puppy Tweets.

According to CNN Money, Puppy Tweets is a small plastic tag that you place on your dog’s collar, after connecting your computer to its USB receiver. After setting your dog up with a new Twitter account, the Puppy Tweets tag will go to work, using its sound and motion sensors to pick up on your dog’s activities and will post pre-written updates to Twitter as your dog naturally performs actions that trigger them.

Examples of the pre-recorded tweets involve ones for when your dog is sleeping (“Somedays it feels like my paw is permanently on the snooze button!”), being especially active (“I finally caught that tail I’ve been chasing and…OOUUUCHH!”), or even barking at those darn neighbors (“YAHOOOOOOO! Somedays you just gotta get your bark on”).

For those interested in the novelty of Puppy Tweets, the product will be launching this fall at a suggested retail price of $29.99.
