I must admit to a general ignorance about wine; when I dine out and the meal calls for fermented grapes, I defer to the expertise of others. My list of preferred cocktails can be counted on one hand, and I could not tell you which spirits are better as aperitifs or digestifs. Beer, on the other hand, is a subject of much interest to me. My BevMo card sees plenty of use, and I’m sure the recycling collectors are somewhat concerned for my health. Call me a lowbrow American if you must, but I know what I like.
