Marvel Set to Release New Avengers Mobile Game?

Tue, Aug 28, 2012

Marvel’s The Avengers made about a bajillion gazillion dollars at the box office. (Note: Dollar figure not scientific).

Why stop there? Sure, the four-disc special edition mega ultra Blu-Ray will be released on September 15, but we comic book fans need something else to appease our Avengers cravings.

Marvel is teasing just the thing with a couple of new trailers hitting the web. The animations appear to tease an upcoming mobile game. Marvel XP Briefing #1 kicks off our story with some kind of pulse from space that shuts down global power grids and results in a mess of super-powered criminals busting out of jail. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s own Nick Fury puts out the word: Avengers assemble.

It’s worth pointing out that this game doesn’t appear to have a direct correlation with the hit movie. Characters aren’t voiced by the actors who brought them to life before millions of adoring fans, but even so, the game still looks like it will feature some fun Avengers content.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news about this upcoming mobile game as well as Marvel’s official trailer.
