Facebook, Social

Playaction has followed up the release of NFL Canada Social Games with a new website covering the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Appropriately titled Race for the Gold, the site, which employs Facebook Connect, allows users to predict the outcome of the Olympic events, and publish their predictions to their news feeds back on Facebook.

According to Inside Social Games, there are no prizes to be won here as there were in the NFL option, but the game does a nice job of offering a bit of virtual pride in the way of country flags, imported Facebook pictures, and the ability to sort your leaderboard position based on your country or your Facebook friends.

Additionally, the top three voters, when tallying each day’s results, will receive virtual medals, giving everyone who isn’t so adept with winter sports a chance to shine in their own right.

If this sounds fun to you, head over to the app’s website to jump into the international festivities.
