Mafia Wars, Social

Zynga is continuing in their effort at streamlining gift requests in their games, by introducing the Zynga Messaging Center (commonly referred to as the in-game gifts acceptance screen) to Mafia Wars in anticipation of Facebook’s upcoming removal of traditional gift requests from the platform.

If you’ve been playing games like FarmVille or Treasure Isle, you’ll already know what to expect from the Messaging Center, but either way, here’s a look at how the Messaging Center appears in the game.

The icon for the center is located in the top right corner of the gameplay area, next to the large Help button, as seen above.

When logging into the game, if you have any outstanding gift requests or mafia requests (that is, users who wish for you to join their mafia), the new gifts acceptance window will appear automatically, allowing you to deal with any and all requests quickly and easily without navigating back and forth from the Facebook gift requests screen to the game’s page.

If you’re someone like myself, who may not actively address their Mafia Wars gift requests because of the time it takes to load the game after accepting each and every gift, this will allow you to stay on top of your requests, and make good use of the items that you have been given, but which are otherwise allowed to sit in limbo.

If you log into the game and don’t see the new Messaging Center, be patient, as Zynga has been known to roll out their new features to groups of users at a time, before making them entirely widespread. Head over to the game’s page on Facebook to see the new Zynga Messaging Center in action.
