Left Behind Games and Digital Praise Announce They Will Merge

Mon, Mar 1, 2010

Christian game developers Left Behind Games, the creators of Left Behind: Eternal Forces (an RTS based on the Left Behind book series), and Digital Praise, creators of Guitar Praise and Dance Praise, among others, announced that they will merge into a single company.

While Left Behind: Eternal Forces was a fairly unsuccessful title, Digital Praise feels that this new entity will give them “access to capital that we anticipate will enable us to produce far more new innovative games than we could hope to develop as a privately held company,” said Tom Bean, President and CEO of Digital Praise, as reported by Industry Gamers.

Left Behind Games’ CEO Troy Lyndon also had praise for their new partner: “Digital Praise has the four key ingredients that will take our company to the next level. Those keys are: (1) strong brands and products, (2) multi-channeled distribution, (3) a solid management team and (4) a history of generating millions of dollars in the emerging Christian video game market, a feat no company has matched.”

Lyndon said it himself – the Christian video game market is on the rise, as religious groups come on board to the growing technological presence in individuals’ daily lives. Whether you share their same mission or beliefs or not, it will be interesting to see what sorts of games come out of this merger.
