Events, Industry

Le Game? Trés bien! The good people of France would kindly like to draw your attention to the fact that they are valuable members of the games industry, and are doing so under a new brand: Le Game. This new banner promises to combine “the natural chutzpah of the French” with — wait. Chutzpah? Your first act as proud Frenchmen is to use a Yiddish word to describe yourselves? Seriously?

Strange word choices aside, Le Game has a lot of quality and tradition to point to, when it comes to French game development. Iconic titles like Rayman, Heavy Rain, Dofus, and many others come from studios based out of France, and Le Game wants their nation’s creative forces to get the recognition and respect they deserve.

From the press release:

In association with Game Connection USA at the 2012 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo (France’s videogame trade association) and partners are proud to announce the creation of the new brand to promote the French videogame industry, Le Game, as well as their official motto, “Uncompromising Creativity from France.” Backed by the government of France, Le Game will facilitate awareness and trade opportunities for French game developers and publishers on a global scale.

Congratulations on your new initiative, Le Game. Mazel Tov!
