The king is dead; long live King.com. That’s the news today about the newest ascendant to the Facebook throne — according to data tracked by our friends at Inside Social Games, Zynga has finally been knocked out of the #1 spot for Monthly Active Users (MAU) across its Facebook titles. The new reigning champ for the month of June is King, the company behind runaway hits like Candy Crush Saga and Pet Rescue Saga now holds that slot with roughly 150 million MAU, compared to Zynga’s 147 million.

How big is Candy Crush Saga? You can buy official Candy Crush Saga socks. People are hooked enough on the game that they want it on their feet. I’ll let you think about that for a minute.

It’s also the top game on Facebook right now with 45 million MAU, but that’s incidental. Official socks, you guys.

All hail the King! Congratulations to the team on this achievement.
