Mobile news today has been booming with news about the latest and greatest devices we all use everyday. Today, we have the release of games for Amazon’s Kindle and Apple fixing the exploit that allows for Jailbreaking and other nasty exploiters to break into your phone with root access.
As of today, your Kindle can do more than display books for you to read as two free games have launched for the device. Thanks to the KDK (Kindle Development Kit), Every Word and Shuffle Row have made their debut as the first games available for Kindle. Every Word is a very simple game with scrambled words. The objective is to create as many words from the scrambled word at the top as possible. The second game, Shuffle Row, plays more like Scrabble in that your objective is to make as many letters from 60 different lettered tiles. According to the app’s description: “After you submit a word, the letters you used will be removed and new ones will be added,” reads the product description.”
Both games are available now and free on the Amazon Kindle store. Be sure to check them out if you have a Kindle, as they both sound pretty neat.
In a statement today, Apple said that they have fixed the security hole in the mobile version of Safari that allows a malicious PDF file to potentially damage any iOS device. The fix will apparently appear in the next software update, but it is yet unknown when this fix will be released. An Apple spokesperson said the following:
“We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”
What does this mean for you? Well, for one, a more secure iPhone or iPad, but also that the jailbreak hack used by JailbreakMe will also no longer work. For the details, we’ll just have to wait and see when the software update hits.
