One of the biggest complaints users have had with YoVille concerns the lack of available ways in the game to earn coins and experience points. You can, of course, work in the Widget Factory every six hours for a small mass of each, along with visit friends for even smaller portions of both coins and YoPoints (the game’s experience points), but those were the only main ways until now. Now, though, a fairly in-depth system of Jobs has been added to the game, allowing you to earn coins, experience points, and even rare items as you work.
The jobs system can be found by clicking on the Briefcase in the lower row of menu icons. There, you’ll find various job categories. Click on a category and the individual jobs will appear. Jobs tend to deal with repeating a certain task a required number of times, in order to find items, as an example.
To give you an idea of how this works, let’s take a look at the “Mini’s Get Together” job.
This job will place you in the middle of a crowded apartment, and you’ll need to click on the individual YoVille avatars to dance with them. Each person that you dance with costs 6 energy points, and as you finish with each person, you’ll be rewarded with a small amount of YoPoints and coins. The object of this particular job is to find three party hats, which appear alongside your coin and experience point rewards when you finish dancing with an avatar.
The jobs vary based on the category, and they are worth more or less coins depending on how complex they are, or, in other words, how time consuming they will be to complete. You’ll run out of energy, just like you do in Mafia Wars (as a comparison), and can be sent energy packs from your friends from the game’s free gifts page, as an example.
The system of Jobs is best explained by simply exploring it on your own – head over to the game’s page on Facebook to do just that.
