iPhone, Mobile

With so many games being released on the iTunes app store, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with which ones you should or shouldn’t be playing on your iPhone. Thankfully, we have the review round-up to show you the best games available on the app store, complete with summaries and reviews from all around the web.

Plunderland

You play as a pirate of the seas, complete with pillaging, plundering, looting and upgrading your ship in Plunderland. Of course, not everyone loves pirates so you’ll have plenty of enemies including island natives and the British army ready to take you out at every turn if you’re not careful.

The gameplay is much like Angry Birds, you must fire cannonballs at your enemies and topple their towers using physics. You can tilt your iPhone to swish your boat and hold=tap and release to launch cannons. Slidetoplay reviewed the game and said its “shortcomings are forgotten in the thrill of sending yet another British vessel down into the drink. And when you set eyes on the smooth graphics and their adorable ragdoll physics, you’ll be hooked.” Rating: 4 out of 4. Price: $2.99.

MagniFusion

Bubble fusion and popping is the name of game in MagniFusion. You push bubbles around in order to organize and mesh them together. Every few seconds, a burst of light will twirl around the play area, lighting up several bubbles allowing you to pop them. The objective is to keep the bubbles from filling up the play area.

GameZebo reviewed the game and said the controls “mar what’s an otherwise fresh and challenging puzzler” and that most of the time “when you fail, it’s not due to your error, but rather the controls” and that “it can be rather frustrating because of that.” Rating: 3.5 out of 5. Price: Free (for now).
