The world of iPhone gaming is constantly changing, with game announcements, releases and news at every corner. Today, we have the formal announcement of 11 EA Mobile titles coming soon and the release of the highly anticipated We Farm in Canada.
EA Mobile Announces 11 iPhone Games
Announced yesterday at a Studio Showcase event, EA Mobile revealed sequels to both Need for Speed and Madden with Need for Speed: Nitro-X and Madden NFL 11. Nitro-X is the successor of Need for Speed: Nitro which was released last year on the DS and Wii. The iPhone version will borrow greatly from the console game, with 16 updated tracks and 18 licensed cars along with a career mode and local multiplayer as well.
New to the iPhone version, Madden and NCAA Football will have the GameFlow support that many gamers have come to know and love in the console version. You’ll also be able to use “pre-snapping” which enables “Hot Routes Everywhere”.
The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition is headed to Android with extra content, will be preloaded on the Samsung Vibrant and is said to be designed specifically for T-Mobile. The Sims 3 Ambitions is headed for iPhone with the same enhancements the PC version is known for including the all-new career mode. SimCity Deluxe is also making a return to iPhone and iPod Touch in the form of an updated version with better controls and better performance.
R-Type was rumored to be released, and is now confirmed with a release date of “later this summer”. Lastly, Reckless Racing and Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight along with Yahtzee for iPad and Risk for iPhone and iPod Touch are on their way as well.
We Farm Released on Canadian App Store
Earlier this week, We Farm became available on the Canadian iTunes App Store for free. Ngmoco is known for releasing games on the Canadian store first before other regions simply because it allows them to “beta test” the software as the Canadian market is significantly less than others. The game is said to be “FarmVille-esque” with an additional focus on raising cattle besides the standard crops.
So, if you’re one of the lucky iPhone gamers in the great, white north then be sure to check out We Farm and tell us how it is in a comment below.
