iPhone developer Ngmoco will soon unleash its newest app, We Rule, upon the masses, asking them to take a few minutes away from FarmVille to jump into a similar world where horticultural and social interaction are the names of the game.
We Rule is more of an RTS than games like FarmVille or Farm Town in that is allows you to manage the citizens of your growing towns, as well as the crops and buildings you grow and create within it. According to an IGN preview of the game, We Rule has some social tendencies that stray from the established formula as well.
Where in similar Facebook applications, gifts tend to be one-way affairs, in We Rule, you can, as an example, place an order for an item from a friend’s shop, causing you both to gain gold and experience points after your friend delivers the item.
From the few screenshots accompanying the preview, it looks as though We Rule will contain a similar “set-it-and-walk-away” strategy for completing certain actions, as one screen in particular showed a countdown timer over a building that was “Gathering Herbs,” with an overall time limit of what can only be assumed is 24 hours.
As of this writing, We Rule is without an official release date, but all hands are pointing to a release sometime in Q2 of 2010.
