In January, we saw the iPad for the first time. No matter your opinion on the device, it has certainly shaken the grounds of the mobile world. The possibilities for the device have barely been touched upon, especially in the world of gaming. The iPad is set to debut officially on April 3rd. Of course, you can also preorder your own iPad starting on March 12th.
iPad will be a significant portable and social gaming device mainly because of its capability to run existing iPhone games. With having a similar structure to a near three year old device, the iPad has the advantage of being easy to develop for and familiar in interface.
We have already seen wide spread developer support with games such as Assassin’s Creed, Need for Speed: Shift, The Sims 3 and Madden NFL running on the device. As the device becomes even more mature and surely post-launch, I am certain we will really see what the device is capable of.
