iPhone, Mobile

Announced for the iPhone, Distinctive Studios’ Ice Hockey Nations 2010 hopes to capitalize on the recent boost in hockey’s popularity via the 2010 Winter Olympics by offering the first full ice hockey game on the iPhone.

The game is set to offer a true six-on-six hockey experience, complete with realistic character animations thanks to live motion capture of real players. While the game is unofficial, meaning that it’s lacking NHL teams (go Avs!), you’ll still be able to choose from teams from 14 different countries.

As reported by Touch Arcade, the game features a touch-screen d-pad control system, powerplays, line changes that can be achieved via a single touch, and multiple game modes, including practice, tournament, and league play.

Ice Hockey Nations 2010 will be available later this month for $4.99.
