Argentinian game developer Atommica has released their first Facebook game, and it comes in the form of Home Fest, a title that resembles Nightclub City, but takes place in your avatar’s home, rather than in a nightclub.
Backed by a partnership with Bueeno and Sony Music Latin America, Home Fest contains real music, played in short snippets, one right after the other. As you add a DJ booth to your home, your house party will be able to earn some real revenue, aside from the cover charge your guests pay as they enter. You’ll be able to schedule your DJ booth to be active for a set amount of hours, and you can come back after that time to cash out your earnings.
You can customize the music being played by choosing between various genres (Pop, Dance, Reggaeton, etc.), with artists ranging from Britney Spears and Usher to the cast of Glee singing Mercy by Duffy.
Just as you can customize the music that’s played in your home, you can also customize its decorations, right down to the very floor your guests dance on. You’ll be able to add seating, tables, and dance floors proper in order to add to the happiness level of your guests and keep the party jumping all night. You can also update the look of your avatar (new clothes, hairstyles and so on), which is represented as a dancer at the party, rather than as the DJ, which comes connected, if you will, to the DJ booth proper.
As the game is incredibly new, a lot of the features are still labeled as coming soon. This includes sending gifts to your friends, as well as what appears to be the ability to post notes between friends. As of right now, you can still visit your friends’ house parties, but other than that, the social features are fairly limited (aside from the expected wall posts that can occur when you level up).
As the game contains real music, if you happen to hear a song that you’d like to call your own, you can click on the “Buy Song” link to be taken to Amazon.com’s MP3 store, where you can purchase the particular song that’s playing in the game at the time.
If you’d like to try this take on the music-themed simulation genre, head over to Home Fest’s page on Facebook. Also make sure to check out our Frisky Hands-On video of the game below to see what to expect from the game should you choose to play it with us.
