Happy Aquarium Rewards Fans and Email Subscribers With New Fish

Facebook, Social

After Facebook decided to lay down the law on notifications, saving users from lots of potential spam messages, the creators of many Facebook games were left with a conundrum as to how to keep their users informed of the games’ latest goings-on. A viable solution in said games seems to be adding exclusive in-game items available only to the game’s Facebook Fans, to those who sign up for email mailing lists, or, in the case of Happy Aquarium – both.

Games.com has spotted two new fish that are now unlockable within the Happy Aquarium store – one for signing up for email updates, and one for becoming a fan.

The first, the Cowfish, is available to fans of the game, regardless of level. It grows to maturity in 12 hours and costs a mere 34 coins to add to your aquarium.

The second fish, the striped Banggai Cardinal, is unlocked to purchase after you sign up for email updates. The Cardinal also grows to adulthood in 12 hours, and has a similarly affordable price, set at 49 coins.

One would imagine that these bonuses will be available indefinitely, as the makers of Happy Aquarium work to expand both their email distribution list and their fan page, but that hasn’t been guaranteed, so be sure to check out these little cuties in the store soon.
