iPhone, Mobile

With so many games being released on the iTunes app store, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with which ones you should or shouldn’t be playing on your iPhone. Thankfully, we have the review round-up to show you the best games available on the app store, complete with summaries and reviews from all around the web.

Gravity Lander

The objective in Gravity Lander couldn’t be more simple: Land your rocket ship on Mars safe and sound by removing obstacles from beneath it or by tilting your iPhone to force it to move. Along with tilting and removing, you are given a quick boost of energy that allows a few seconds for you to move things out of the way for the ship to land.

In their review of the game, GameZebo said “the main problem with Gravity Lander is there just isn’t that much in the package. It’s a fun, quick diversion to be sure, but I’m kind of left wondering where all that government money went.” However, they did state it could be fun in very short spurts.

Coin Push Frenzy

If you’ve ever been to an arcade, you’ve likely seen those enticing token machines that have all of those delicious coins just waiting to be pushed out  and all you have to do is stick in one of yours, right? You’ll start off with 50 coins in Coin Push Frenzy and it mostly works just like a real arcade version.

In their review, Slidetoplay said the game has “A significant launch bug prevents you from earning coins if the app is closed, which we found to be very frustrating. Freeverse advised us to restart our iDevice or sign out and back into Plus+ to fix the problem, but this didn’t work for us.” and that is reason enough to hold off on the download for now. A bug fix is said to be on the pipeline.

Really? I expect almost as much (if not the same) from a free game as I do a paid one these days… With all that microtransaction revenue, most free games are hardly that
