Yesterday, FarmVille officially got in on the act of celebrating the 2010 Winter Olympics with the release of seven new decorative items that can now be purchased via the Decorations tab of the marketplace.

As they are celebrating the Winter Olympic Games (winter being the operative word), a few of the items have snow around their bases, making them fit right in if you have yet to switch your field back from snow-covered to greener pastures.

But I digress. The items make nods to not only skiing and snowboarding, but also bobsledding and ice skating. Two additional items, the Award Stand and Game Torch, celebrate the Olympics in general.

As you might expect, some items cost Farm Cash, while others go for standard coins. If you’re feeling generous, you can even send the Farm Cash items to friends.

It’s disappointing that more sports haven’t been acknowledged by this item update, but hopefully this is just the first of many item updates we’ll see containing “Snow Games” items in the coming days. If not, however, make sure to pick up the ones that are available, should they interest you, as the in-game timer has them expiring in three days (from the time of this writing).
