Games Directory Mysteriously Missing From Facebook

Facebook, Social

Inside Social Games had a nice catch when they discovered that the Facebook Games Directory has gone missing from the Games Dashboard. Facebook has commented on the removal, simply stating that the company is trying to “optimize performance” on the dashboard and will “explore ways to most efficiently bring it back.”

The brand new games dashboard was introduced with the Facebook redesign in February and is accessible via a link on the left side of the main news feed page. The dashboard makes it easy to see what your friends are playing and how you stack up.

I’m not sure if the directory will come back but Inside Social Games says: “Ultimately, Facebook doesn’t want to be in the directory business. It much rather wants to optimize its much better ways of sharing information, like its news feed.”
