What’s the point of even playing Borderlands if you can’t tell your friends about the absurdly powerful quadruple-barreled shotgun that just dropped? TriplePoint client GamersGate, purveyor of digitally distributed diversions, has granted this ability to its players across their entire library, adding in a universal game overlay from PlayXpert. The new in-game tools, available for free to all GamersGate users, will add in-game chat via networks like Google Chat and AIM, along with several other features, enabling players to manage all of their social and auxiliary tasks without having to Alt-Tab out of their games.
Included in the PlayXpert overlay is a full web browser, to check those GameFAQs without having to keep minimizing the game, and a music player, to allow you to quickly skip tracks when that terrible Coheed & Cambria song pops up randomly. A system diagnostics tool and clan-supported voice chat options round out the overlay, which can be downloaded for free right here.
