Casual, iPhone, Mobile

It’s Monday, January 18th, and as we told you last week, that means it’s time to kick off the FreeAppADay program! What better way to encourage new users to try some apps than by giving them away at no cost? If nothing else, you’ll be able to point to some staggeringly high download numbers. Me, I love free apps. My iPhone is up to its fifth page — how about yours?

Today’s free download is Rope’n'Fly, an action-oriented game from Austrian developer Djinnworks, which asks the age-old question: What if Spider-Man had no idea what he was doing? Players are given control over a hapless, flailing ragdoll who is flung from the sky towards a series of tall buildings. Tapping on any of these buildings will shoot an elastic rope at the tapped spot, allowing the ragdoll to swing across the cityscape, and fly long distances by releasing the rope with another tap. How far can you get before smashing our hero to bits on the unforgiving ground?

Sound simplistic? It is. Is it worth a free download? Absolutely. You can grab Rope’n'Fly entirely free for today only, right here on the App Store. Rope'n'Fly
