iPhone, Mobile

Today’s free iPhone app at is Veggie Samurai, from QuantumSquid Interactive.

Veggie Samurai has no problem being almost an exact clone of Fruit Ninja, so if you’ve played that incredibly popular game, you’ll know what to expect here. In Samurai mode, you’ll wait for veggies to appear on the screen and you’ll swipe your finger through vegetables to cut them, earning points, al the while avoiding the poison vials that appear.

In Harmony Mode, there are no lives and no poison vials – it’s simply you and a time limit that asks you to see how many points you can earn within that time limit. You can cut vegetables more than once, with slice combos, multi-dice comboes, dice chains, pea killer, onion blossom and other point bonuses being available.

There are also some rare “mega veggies” that offer you bonus points; that is, if you can unlock their appearance by performing certain in-game tasks. Speaking of unlockables, you can earn over 30 achievements via the game’s OpenFeint integration, and you can climb the multiple leaderboards to compare your own skills with those of veggie samurais from around the world.

If you’ve yet to try Fruit Ninja, make sure to download Veggie Samurai while the game is free today.
