iPhone, Mobile

Today’s free iPhone app at FreeAppADay.com is Samurai: Way of the Warrior, from Mad Finger Games.

The game places you in the role of Daisuke Shimada, a Samurai in ancient Japan during a chaotic war. The evil Daimyo Hattoro is spreading fear and terror around Japan, and it’s up to you to stop him.

The game itself is a hack-and-slash that uses only your fingers and the touch screen – no virtual joysticks or d-pads to worry about. The game will take you through multiple unique environments in this 16th century feudal Japanese setting, and as you play, you’ll unlock new attack combos and will be able to master your skills.

The story is told in a comic style, and the graphics are drawn to match. Through the game’s AGON Online integration, you can track your score on online leaderboards, see what your friends are up to on friends lists, post your scores and progress to Facebook or Twitter, and look at your own profile, to see just how far you’ve grown since you first started the game.

If Samurai: Way of the Warrior sounds interesting to you, make sure to download your copy from iTunes while the game is free today.
