Today’s free iPhone app at FreeAppADay.com is Fishies, an aquarium simulation game from Playmesh. For those of you who are familiar with Facebook games like FishVille, Happy Aquarium and Fish World, you’ll be able to dive right into the waters of Fishies.

The game allows you to create your own aquarium, decorate it with various objects ranging from kelp to statues, and fill it with all manner of fish, with Clownfish being but one example. You’ll raise these fish from their baby state to an adult state and can sell them for a profit.

The game allows you to add friends, just as the Facebook games do, along with allowing you to purchase a virtual currency, Pearls. You’ll also be able to send and receive gifts to and from the people that you add as friends, which is achieved by sharing your username with them.

As the game is a very new title (it was just launched this week), it is being supported by FreeAppADay in celebration of its launch, but Playmesh has let on that the game will always be free. Still, if you’d like to start playing sooner, rather than later, head over to iTunes to download it.
