iPhone, Mobile

Today’s free iPhone app on is Sniper vs Sniper: Online. The game contains both single player and multiplayer online modes, and tasks you with tracking down terrorists in your sniper scope and eliminating them from the equation.

For single-player gameplay, you’ll have three modes to choose from: Campaign, which sees you going through six different areas simply eliminating terrorists, 1 vs 1, and Special Mission, which sends you through five missions in each of the game’s regions, with the reward being upgraded weaponry.

When you’re ready to head online, you can play either 1 vs 1 match-ups (try to prove you are the best sniper), or head into co-op with a friend, as you both try to eliminate the terrorist cells.

For the gameplay itself, you’ll go through three stages as you search for a target. You start in Normal view, which gives you a zoomed-out perspective on the landscape. From there, you’ll use your binoculars to attempt and zero in on a suspect’s location before finally moving into scope view, where a tap on the screen will fire at your enemy. Be sure to hit them on the first try, or else your position will be revealed to them.

As you go along, you’ll be able to track your scores in the online rankings, and earn medals and badges according to how well you’ve scored. Sniper vs Sniper: Online will be free for today only, so be sure to pick up your copy while you still can. Like other apps, you’ll also need to go online with the game at least once today, to make sure the game stays yours, for free, forever.
