iPhone, Mobile

As reported by, today’s free iPhone app is Sheeple, a game that is a mix between strategy and puzzle that sees you placed in the role of Overseer, charged with rescuing the poor Sheeple (think humans with sheep for heads), from various predicaments.

After going through the included tutorial, you’ll find that your goal is to guide the Sheeple out of the level by using your finger to change the direction that they’re walking (swiping on them makes them run), push obstacles like crates out of their path, and so on. You’ll have various tools at your disposal, including the power to call down meteors to break boulders, summon fire to melt ice, and even create bridges so that the Sheeple can cross bodies of water.

Just as you can summon items to remove obstacles in the path of the Sheeple, you can also create boulders, in order to “herd” the Sheeple into one side of the screen. That is, if there is an already open path that would be pointless for your Sheeple to walk down, you can block if off with a boulder, and so on.

Sheeple offers achievements via OpenFeint integration, a replay ability for any level you’ve already passed, the ability to play your own music as the game’s soundtrack, and an auto-save feature that saves your progress after every level – in that way, if you’re interrupted by a phone call, you won’t have to go far to catch up.

If Sheeple sounds interesting to you, be sure to download a copy of the game while it’s free today, or check out this gameplay video to get a better idea of what’s in store.
