iPhone, Mobile

As reported by, today’s free iPhone app is Car Jack Streets, an action game (presented from an overhead perspective) that sees you placed in the role of Randal Meyers, a man with serious gambling debts, totaling $1 million, that are owed to Frankie, a member of the Italian mob. The mob is calling for the money, and it’s up to you to survive long enough to complete jobs both legitimate and illegal in order to earn the cash necessary to pay the mob back, before they collect from your flesh.

If the game sounds at all like Grand Theft Auto (GTA), that’s no coincidence, as it was created by some of the same folks responsible for the original GTA game. In fact, the overhead perspective makes the game not totally unlike Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, a title released on the Nintendo DS, which is also similar to Car Jack Streets in its gameplay elements, for those who are familiar with the former.

Car Jack Streets allows you to play in real time, complete an infinite number of jobs, both legal and criminal, drive any vehicle, collect and make use of high-power weaponry, smash and destroy objects, run from police officers both on foot and in car chases, search for hidden items and more, all while earning achievements in the process, along with collecting as much money as possible, with the highest earners being displayed on online leaderboards.

If you like GTA, or simply want a more complex game to sink some time into, be sure to pick this one up while it’s free today.
