FreeAppADay for 04/29/10: Tune Runner

iPhone, Mobile

As reported by the folks at FreeAppADay, today’s free iPhone app is Tune Runner, from Appy Entertainment. Tune Runner is a deceptively simple, yet addictive little title that utilizes the music in your library to create an infinite amount of levels – so long as you have music to play, you’ll never run out of gameplay.

As for gameplay itself, Tune Runner sees you protecting an animated boombox that runs on his own in a side-scrolling presentation (meaning that you hold your iPhone sideways). Shapes and numbers will appear in front of the boombox’s path, and you must draw the shape on the screen in order to allow the boombox to run through it. If you fail, he runs into the shape, which is obviously bad, and can end your run.

For each shape you draw, you earn bonus points, and you’ll earn even more bonus points for completing the song. Your high score can be added to the global leaderboards, so you can show off just how great you are at the game.

As a bonus for downloading Tune Runner, you’ll receive a free song – a remix of “Hallucinations” by Angel & Airwaves. If all of this sounds interesting to you, make sure you download the game from iTunes. Also, take a look at the official trailer below to see more of what to expect.
