iPhone, Mobile

As reported by the folks at FreeAppADay.com, today’s free iPhone app is Chromixa, a title that is described by the developer as a “jigsaw of light.”

Chromixa is a puzzle title that sees you working with “shapes of light” (brightly colored shapes) on a black background, as you aim to complete various designs. In this way, the game is very much like Tangrams, in that you’ll have the outline of a shape and will have to arrange the pieces inside in such a way as to complete the shape, with the added twist of needing to make sure everything is the correct color. This is done by overlapping colors so that they blend and form new ones – red and blue make purple, for instance. You can rotate the shapes and place them via simple touch controls.

Chromixa comes with 70 levels, and as you progress you’ll unlock four mini-games, like a ball bouncing game that asks you to make sure the ball (which changes colors after each bounce) lands on the correctly colored panel by rotating the gameplay field.

Here’s a video of the game in action, so you can see more of what to expect should you choose to download this free game today.
