FreeAppADay for 03/29/10: Kingdoms at War

iPhone, Mobile

If you’ve been keeping up with the FreeAppADay program like I have, today’s app might give you the feeling of deja vu. No, that’s not some clever reference to what the game contains – it’s a literal feeling, as today’s free app, Kingdoms at War, was also the FreeAppADay for March 18, 2010.

For those who missed their chance at it the first time around, this is your lucky day. Kingdoms at War sees you creating your own kingdom, building outposts that will train new soldiers or defensive/offensive unit types, training spies that can gain intelligence and steal resources from enemies, learn an arsenal of magic spells, buy and sell allies, and more.

What makes the app interesting is that it’s actually a combination of a web browser game, that can be played at this link, and the voluntary iPhone app, that serves as your connection to your flourishing empire while you’re away from the computer.

The game is online only, so iPod Touch users be warned.
