Today’s free app is Alexia, a word game from Prome Toys that falls in the same vein as games like Scrabble or Boggle, in that it asks you to create words out of letter orbs in order to rack up points and earn achievements.
Letter orbs will fall from the top of the screen, and you must continually create words (the game supports both an English and German dictionary, each with over 400,000 words) before the orbs reach the top of the screen, ending your game.
The game supports leaderboards for your best overall score, or your best scoring word (longer words = bigger score, as you might expect), allows you to post your scores to Twitter and challenge your friends via OpenFeint integration, as well as play your own music as the game’s soundtrack. Speaking of OpenFeint, you can earn over 1,000 points in the game, by unlocking the more than 40 achievements that await you.
Games like these have proven to be dangerously addictive in the past, and this looks to be no different. If you’d like to give it a shot, head over to ![]()
