As reported by the folks at FreeAppADay.com, today’s free app is MicroCars, a side-scrolling racer.
For those who have played Chalkboard Stunts on the iPhone, MicroCars seems really similar, not only due to its side-presentation, but also due to its inclusion of real time physics, and the ability to control your car’s orientation while’s in the air (this is done by tilting the iPhone).
MicroCars contains 15 different levels spread across three different worlds, where you’ll simply try to complete the tracks in the fastest time that you can. There are obstacles on each track, you might expect, and it’s your interaction with these obstacles that can create new ramps (and furthermore jumps) by knocking over pillars and then driving over them, as an example.
You’ll also have to change altitude in certain races, which is where the game’s physics come further into play, as you may have to balance your car on the far side of a see-saw like object in order for it to slide, dropping you down to the next level, before you can continue on.
Make sure to pick up MicroCars from iTunes while it’s free today – the game is normally $1.99.
