Foursquare Partners With TLC

Foursquare and The Learning Channel have announced a partnership where Foursquare members can earn special badges when they check into “TLC celebrity-approved locations”, according to SocialTimes.

Some of the examples of where you could potentially check-in at are the Smithsonian, the World of Coke store, and the Fox Bros Market.

Some of the badges that you can receive are:

  • TLC Summer: Earn it by checking-in at any TLC Summer tagged location across the U.S.
  • Cupcake Connoisseur: Check-in three times at a TLC fan-approved cupcake boutique or bakery to earn this sweet badge
  • BBQ Pitmaster: Make a pit stop at least three times at a Pitmaster-approved BBQ hot spot to earn this badge

It’s interesting to see the different strategic partnerships arising from location-based services. It’s essentially a free way to advertise TLC, but at the same time providing some incentives for those that want to continue to earn badges.
