iPhone, Location-Based, Mobile

As we reported yesterday, the popular check-in app foursquare has achieved some amazing figures over its first year in existence.

Along with its 500,000 users and 1.4 million different check in venues foursquare can now claim a figure of over 347,000 check-ins in a single day, thanks in part to the happenings surrounding SXSW in Austin, Texas.

According to Mashable, the news comes from the official foursquare Twitter feed, which announced the figure, while the app saw the addition of a new unlockable badge in celebration of the achievement. The previously available Swarm badge has been rewarded to users when 50 members check-in at the same location at relatively the same time. The new Super Swarm badge has the same qualification, but 250 people have to be involved at once.
