Former Pandemic Devs Create EA Satire “BulleTrain”

Pandemic closed a good chunk of its studio late last year which laid off the four individuals involved in Downsized Games, the creators of BulleTrain. BulleTrain is the studio’s first creation and has a premise centered around a universe surrounded by “giant mega corporations” that use bullet trains instead of spacecraft to ship goods.

Using these bullet trains allows “the Bullet-railroad barons, lead by the dastardly JR, the richest and most powerful people in the galaxy,” as quoted on Downsized Game’s website. I sense some EA referencing there, but here’s even more to cement it: “You used to run a small shipping company on your home planet of Glendon-19 [Pandemic was on Glendon Ave. in L.A.] but a hostile takeover by Elaborate Acquisitions [EA, of course], your local B-rail corporation, has left you out on the streets.”

It’s nice to see the four individuals behind it seem to still have passion and creativity behind them, despite the unfortunate demise of their studio. BulleTrain currently has no release date.
