You know that game you play in the car where you punch the living daylights out of someone when you see a Volkswagen Beetle? Of course you do; everyone plays it, because hitting your friends is hilarious. But the game has gone one step further via a new Facebook application that allows you to send virtual punches to your friends, complete with sound effects, based on any of the Volkswagen line of vehicles.

Regardless of whether or not you’re a “Slug Bug” purist (apparently the game’s called Punch Buggy…who knew?), who only feels punches are valid if thrown when seeing an actual Beetle, the app does have some incentive associated with sending virtual punches, other than simply annoying friends.

Anyone who sends a punch earns an entry into a contest for a six month Volkswagen lease, and, for those that send a punch containing each of the 13 different cars available, you earn a chance to win a Volkswagen CC outright.

We’ll let you decide how to go about playing the Punch Buggy game when you’re actually driving one.
