Sometime in the first half of 2010, Adobe will release Flash 10.1, which, according to Tech Crunch, will allow users access to Flash games on their Nexus One mobile phones (among others).
Redmond Pie’s Taimur Asad got his hands on a pre-release version of the HTC Desire Rom (which includes said Flash functionality), and took perhaps the biggest social game of them all, FarmVille, for a spin on a video walkthrough (see below).
There were some weird loading issues in just getting the game to load in the Nexus One’s browser (the loading animation never went away), and some of Asad’s taps weren’t immediately recognized, but the game did look to be at least functional; plus, it’s not an impossibility that Zynga may very well create an optimized version of the game specifically to run on mobile phones.
We’ll just have to wait and see how big the demand for such a version would be, once Flash 10.1 is released in full later this year. If we’re making predictions, something tells me that demand will be pretty high.
