Facebook, Social

EA Sports President Peter Moore announced FIFA Superstars via blog post. The title is being designed and developed by Playfish, the creators of Pet Society and Restaurant City, a social gaming studio that was acquired by Electronic Arts last year. This is the first EA franchise that Playfish has publicly worked on since being acquired by the sports giant.

Peter Moore says in his post, “Our FIFA products connect fans from all over the world who share a common passion for the sport, and soon our partnership with Playfish will allow us to bring the FIFA brand to the growing Facebook community with a new game called FIFA Superstars.” He goes on to say that the combination of EA Sports’ gaming knowledge and Playfish’s social experience will be a great match, granting “great opportunities to bring hundreds of millions of new fans to compete against their friends to win the FIFA World Cup through an engaging interactive experience.” There is no further info on when the game will launch, but Peter advises fans to stay tuned for more details soon.
