If you didn’t get a chance to listen to this week’s official FarmVille podcast, you missed out on a couple of announcements for how the game will be changing in the coming days and weeks.

First and foremost, the game’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be expanding past the Pot of Gold, with the release of a themed Mystery Box and new limited edition items that will apparently be available for individual purchase from the game’s store. While the launch date for these new items wasn’t announced, it would be a logical assumption that we’ll be seeing at least the new Mystery Box in two days time, when the current Mystery Animal Crate expires.

Additionally, Zynga will be tweaking the way achievements, crop mastery and levels are earned. Presumably, this will make earning the achievements or mastering crops easier, or at least we can hope that that’s the case, as level 3 mastery on some crops takes a mighty long time, relegating you to planting the same crop over and over again, ad nauseam, without really accomplishing anything.
