We all know how much of a smashing success Facebook is as a social networking site, and its reach continues to grow by the day.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed at the company’s f8 conference in San Francisco that the service has surpassed 400 million users (which is up from 350 million in December of last year). Perhaps more interestingly, a full forth of those users are using “Facebook Connect” to link their Facebook profiles to third-party websites.
Recently, Facebook has expanded the Facebook Connect service even more–to the point where you can like specific pieces of content on one website, or like a song on Pandora, and have the “like” status post to your Facebook wall.
The reach and scope of Facebook’s operation is interesting to see develop to say the least. They continue to add different snippets to Facebook that continue to deepen the hooks the social networking site has on your daily life. Initially it was simply just going to be a place to connect with your friends, but it’s now infecting ancillary websites that support Facebook–enabling you more opportunities to use Facebook remotely from a myriad of other websites you frequent.
