Facebook Game Ponzi, Inc. Closes Its Doors for Good

Facebook, Social

Earlier this month, the developer of Ponzi, Inc, Challenge Games, became part of the Zynga Game Network. Due to this change, the folks behind the game have had to make some hard decisions about where to place their focus, and apparently, they felt that it was time for the businesses of Ponzi, Inc. to close their doors for good.

If you were one of the few hundred thousand players that enjoyed the game on Facebook, and you happened to make a purchase in the game within the past two months, all of your credit will be transfered over to FrontierVille, Zynga’s newest game. To be clear, if you had the equivalent of $10 of premium currency in Ponzi, you will be given $10 worth of Horseshoes, the premium currency in FrontierVille to compensate for your lost investment.

What does this mean for the future of Challenge Games? Will they be allowed to create another business game? Or, perhaps Zynga will finally be looking to create an in-depth city building game, with seems to be one of the only genres that the developer hasn’t dived into head first. Only time will tell at this point, and we’ll be sure to let you know what becomes of Challenge in the future.
