Facebook Axes “Fans”, Prefers “Likes”

Facebook, Social

Terminology is half the battle and Facebook has started to think it may not be a bad idea to consolidate and simplify some of the vocabulary used on the platform. You know how you can “Become a Fan” of something currently? Well, soon you will no longer be a “fan” but rather will just “like” something. Same concept, change of terminology. I do believe that unification and simplicity help out a lot and Facebook is no exception.

Changes to the platform are coming “soon” which means that it’s likely in the next few months or so and currently there are no further details. The pages don’t appear to be changed in any other fashion so no changes will have to be made by content creators it seems.
