For those who just can’t wait to check-in to their next venue, or to win some sweet free Microsoft Points, we’ve got some great news for you. Today, we have EpicMix, which will allow you skiing or snowboarding types to earn achievements and level-up just by doing so, and the rewards program for Bing that can have you scoring some sweet Microsoft Points.
Starting this winter season, five ski slopes in the states of Colorado, Nevada and California will each start tracking powder time, along with other factors to award skiers with achievement pins and also earn points for leveling up.
EpicMix works much like other popular check-in services FourSquare or Gowalla, in that you simply check-in to earn different pins or badges, along with points and items. While you really can’t spend these virtual goods, they are good bragging rights to your friends.
All Vail Resort season passes along with PEAKS lift tickets will be fitted with an RF logo that is equipped with EpicMix. Every time you use your ticket, your statistics will be uploaded to the EpicMix site. Mobile applications are also in the works to track your stats even easier.
Microsoft just recently launched its brand new rewards program that encourages users like you to use Bing. By installing the toolbar provided (only compatible with Internet Explorer), and using it to search and take part in other promotions, you earn Reward Points that can be converted into prizes or Microsoft Points.
The program allows you to trade your Reward Points for Microsoft Points on a 1:1 scale, and allows you to redeem those points in 100 point increments. For just getting started with the program, you earn an automatic 250 points, and there’s plenty more to earn just by completing simple search tasks. Also, there doesn’t appear to be any sort of catch so I’d get started as soon as possible if I were you.
You can access the Bing Rewards program and download the toolbar here.
