In a press release today, EA announced console versions of the hugely popular The Sims 3 to be released later this year. Each version will largely have the same concepts and goals but they will each have their own exclusive features that set them apart.
Executive Producer at EA, Sam Player explained: “We’re bringing players the best console and handheld game for The Sims franchise to date and are excited to offer a unique experience for all types of gamers on their platform of choice. Building on the unique traits system, living open neighborhood, lifetime wishes, and endless customization options, we’ve tailored each platform of The Sims 3 with exclusive features to allow for even more control, creativity, and connectivity.”
New to the console versions are the “Karma Powers” in which you can dramatically alter the course of your Sims’ life in a touch of a button. Along with this, exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are the ability to share your creations in the game with people all around the world.
Not only is there the ability to share content, but they are also going to allow you to check your rewards and challenges on Facebook as well as share them with your friends.
Only on the Wii version is an exclusive beach town and “Life Moments” mode. The mode expect players to have several adventures that involve exploring and discovering secrets all throughout the town.
EA did not give a specific date for release but did say to expect it in Fall 2010.
