Arcade, Frisky Misc

If you love Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog AND old school Nintendo, Doctor Octoroc will probably blow your mind with his latest creation, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Game.

Unfortunately, this is only a hypothetical game (and an unfinished hypothetical game at that). Sorry to disappoint, but Doctor Octoroc only made a flash recreation of the musical, and he is only finished with Act 1 (of 3). For Dr. Horrible fans, we can only hope that a daring programmer takes the reigns and makes this into a reality. Until then, we can dream with DocOc’s vision and watch Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day make adorable 8-bit music together.  For more on Doctor Octoroc and his projects, vist his blog.

If you’re a fan of 8-bit Nintendo but have had no idea whatsoever what Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is, then cast off the veil of ignorance! Watch it and enjoy! The musical was written by Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse, and Angel), his brothers Jed and and Zack, and Jed’s then-fiance Maurissa Tancharoen. The musical features Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer (Dr. Horrible’s nemesis), and Felicia Day as Penny (the love interest). It’s fun and catchy, and quite frankly, you’re not a geek until you’ve seen it.
