Does Zynga Plan to Travel Down the Oregon Trail?

Sources close to Games.com have left many wondering whether or not one of Zynga’s upcoming Facebook games could be a revitalization of the Oregon Trail games we all knew and loved as kids (well, except maybe for the dying of dysentery part – that wasn’t so fun).

At the end of last year, it was revealed that the company behind the smash hits FarmVille and Mafia Wars (among others) had trademarked a list of potential game titles including FrontierVille, Frontier World, and just Frontier, so it is looking more and more likely that a virtual trip out west will be accompanying the company’s real life expansion to Hollywood.

Other trademarks were filed for names like CrimeVille, Zoo City and TreasureVille, but I have to admit that this potential nod back to the gaming days of my youth has me most interested. How about you guys?
