It’s another Thursday in the world of Restaurant City, and that means it’s time to see what new items Playfish has released in the game. As we told you earlier in the week, this week’s theme is “Under the Sea,” and it contains all of the decorations and functional items necessary to make your guests believe they’ve traveled to an underwater paradise.
Surprisingly enough, there isn’t a new variety of table or chair to choose from (we’ll get to the reasoning behind this in a moment), but there are other items, including a Coral Door frame, ruins from Atlantis in the form of Columns and Dividers, coral covered rocks, and even a Mermaid and Scuba Diver. In terms of flooring and wallpaper, you can pick up the Blue Seabed Tile and its accompaniment, the Deep Sea Wallpaper.
These items range in price from 50 coins for a single pieces of the Blue Seabed Tile to 35,000 coins for the Sunken Ship Stern (the other half of the ship is available for free for those who can master the new Chili Crab recipe).
For the rest of the theme, you’ll need to be willing to spend Playfish Cash. The first premium item is the Jellyfish Lamp which costs 4 Playfish Cash, while a second is a “Moving Deep Sea Wallpaper,” available to purchase for 7 Playfish Cash. There are two functional items in this theme – the first is a Poseidon Statue, available for 15 Playfish Cash, which adds two bonus points to your restaurant’s total popularity rating, while the second is the 20 Playfish Cash Coral Garden, which randomly spawns schools of fish within your restaurant. Finally, you can pick up an Underwater Volcano Stove for 20 Playfish Cash that cooks food 15% faster than a normal stove.
If you thought that this theme was lacking in new items (specifically a new table and chair set), take note of the large sale going on in the game’s store this week. Complimentary items, like the previously released Clam Chair and Rock Table have all been discounted. For those two particular examples, the Clam Chair and Rock Table normally sell for 1,300 and 1,200 coins, but are now available for 1,000 and 800 coins, respectively.
