Once upon a time, a man told his friends, “Hey! I’m going to climb that building!” And his friends were all, “What? You’re crazy.” Now you know the complete plot of Crazy Climber, an arcade game that came out back in 1980. There’s no beating a good story, though, so this classic tale is being retold in Pocket Climber, a portable version with an endless-runner twist from TriplePoint client CocoaChina.
From the press release:
Pocket Climber is the sequel to a popular classic Japanese arcade game called Crazy Climber produced by Nichibutsu in 1980. Punchbox inherited the original game’s IP from Nichibutsu and has updated gameplay for a modern audience. The Punchbox development team uniquely optimized the iPhone version of the game so players can hold the mobile device in one hand, navigating gameplay with their thumb only, which is the most natural gesture to interact with a phone.
One-handed gaming. I think we all know what the real intent is, here. Crazy Climber is coming soon for a paltry 99 cents.
